David Craig
David Craig was born in Saskatchewan and grew up in southwestern Ontario and Ottawa. He recently used his brushes and pallet to help preserve a local heritage site at Inglis Falls, Ontario. His painting Summer by the Mill was David's first landscape, and first in a series of paintings by Canadian artists which will raise funds for local conservation and preservation efforts.

A graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, David has painted a variety of subjects. He has designed several coins for the Royal Canadian Mint, including the 1999 silver dollar celebrating the 1774 discovery of the Queen Charlotte Islands.   David strives to create a special mood in his work, one that is thought- provoking and draws the viewer into the picture. A retrospective of his work at Toronto's O'Keefe Centre (now the Hummingbird Centre) drew thousands of people. The show was extended for a month.

David is a stickler for detail and accuracy. His highly acclaimed paintings commemorating Canada's Second World War effort are a prime example of his approach to art. Other projects include six original paintings for Canadian Tire's 75th anniversary hardcover book, illustrations for the 100th anniversary of the Royal Bank in Ottawa, and murals for the Hockey Hall of Fame.
