Kathryn
Mullaney
Kathryn
Mullaney was raised in Alberta where she excelled in art throughout her
early education. When she moved to British Columbia in 1973, the influence
of the West Coast permeated her soul and manifested itself in her paintings,
which most often depict the natural beauty of the oceans, their shores,
and the abundant wildlife.
Kathryn has traveled and
studied art extensively in Edmonton, Alberta, London, England, and Ottawa,
Ontario. She studied art at the university of Victoria in B.C. and also
studied privately for three years with Gladys Murray, a gifted Fraser Valley
teacher who assisted in developing Kathryn's pastel technique and expertise.
Kathryn's favourite medium is soft pastel. Her ability in this medium has earned her an Active Status in the Federation of Canadian Artists, and she is an Exhibiting Signatory Member, one of three Canadians so honoured, of the Northwest Pastel Society in Seattle, Washington. With original works eagerly sought by an increasing group of collectors, her paintings are on display in homes and offices around the world, including Canada, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Austria and Brazil. Her work has been displayed in the Fraser Valley, Vancouver, Victoria, B.C., Edmonton, Alberta, yachats, Oregon, and both Seattle and Issaquah in Washington State. |
